There are hardly any words to fully describe the beauty of Charis’ and Josh’s Nova Scotia wedding day back in August. Not only was the location perfection, the weather was just incredible as well. Having been to Nova Scotia the year prior with my own family (check out this post!), I was fully dreaming of how to get back again. When Josh and Charis were first engaged and contacted me about photographing their wedding at their family home in Annapolis Valley my heart leaped with joy! The East Coast has fully captured my heart and here we are planning another trip for next summer!
I started the day with the ladies as they got ready at The Gingerbread House in Wolfville. The ladies were chill as ever and we didn’t let a crazy bee ruin our morning as a few of us got stung! From there we headed to the Grand Pre Heritage Site in Nova Scotia for the first look between Charis and Josh. This was hands down the sweetest first look I have ever witness. The smiles, tears and happiness filled my heart- I may have had a few tears behind the camera. Their bridal party photos were a blast as they were surrounded by their closest loved ones- brothers, sisters, family and friends. I loved the neutral, beachy, east coast tones that they chose for their wedding party clothes.
What always amazes me is the high and low tides of the east coast. I photographed the wedding party at high tide and then at low tide I came back with the bride and groom and we were walking on the ocean floor- simply incredible! The ceremony was held at Charis’ home. They had worked so incredibly hard on their property to set it up for an afternoon and evening of celebrations and it was perfect! Both of their parents participated in the ceremony and it was so special all of the meaning that they put into their day.
The day ended with some unforgettable sunset couple photos on the ocean floor. The sky was simply perfection and probably the best display I saw all summer. There were so many beautiful moments throughout the day and I am so grateful to have been able to celebrate and document this special day. The highlight of the evening is when an impromptu jam session broke out. There were so many talented musicians there during the day and in evening they broke their instruments out and gave us all a private concert and it still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.
Congratulations again Josh and Charissa! I wish you God’s many blessings as you continue on in your married life together. I’ve been so blessed to call you not only family but dear friends!
