East Coast Trip – Part One – Nova Scotia Photographer

This past summer our family embarked on our first ever trip to the East Coast.  Our kids are very good travellers of which we are super thankful for!  We logged 18 hours of driving on the way there and about the same amount on the way back.  Our first day we left Alliston around 5 a.m. and drove until we reached Saint Jean Port Joli in Quebec.  We stayed in a little Airbnb— a shared accommodations with the homeowner and her family.  The reason we picked this place is that it was set off the main roads and they have a little farm as well.

The next morning we again left bright and early and drove through New Brunswick and finally arrived at our home away from home around 7:30 p.m.  This little purple cottage owned by our friends was truly a gift for us this past summer.  Our kids got to explore the Atlantic Ocean and they absolutely loved it.  They found all kinds of sea creatures, sea shells and beach treasures.  They collected stuff all week long.  We were also blessed with some pretty awesome neighbours who made sure we were well fed and cared for!  On our last day at the cottage, they even boated us over to a private island where we spent the afternoon on the beach.  It was pretty flipping amazing!

Our day trips included visiting Shelburne and Lunenburg.  We ate fish, fish and more fish.  Because what else do you do on the East Coast?! We discovered our most favourite place via a google search– Sandy Point Lighthouse.  What is so special about this place is that when the tide is low you can actually walk on the ocean floor and all way up to the lighthouse.  This is the place where we murdered 75 sand dollars, 6 star fish and a sea horse- which we lost.  We now have all these at home and they are continuing to  dry out.  Its so awesome to have these as mementos of such a great week together as a family.

This blog post is only part one of our East Coast Trip.  The later part of our trip will be posted in a separate blog post.  I had so many photos to go through and thought it would be best to split them up!

Starting over can be so dang hard! I’ve had to reset my business a few times over the last 10 years. But this last move 3.5 years ago was a cross Canada move. We relocated from Ontario to Alberta. 🇨🇦
