Looking back now, the beginning of summer seems so far away! This couple is special to my heart because Michael is my cousin and I’m so happy that God has brought him and Riemke together. They are such a sweet couple and I’m so thankful to be a part of documenting their engagement session but also their wedding day story next month. For their engagement session in the Niagara area, we kept it very relaxed and went to locations that were close to their heart. I always recommend this as it helps my couples relax and really enjoy their session together.
We started at Michael’s home, the same house he has been in his whole life. I remember that feeling of leaving the only place that you have ever lived at- its bittersweet. Both Michael and Riemke come from farming families and Michael is continuing the family business by building his own pig barn. When we shot this session back in early June the corn was still short and his barn was just in the beginning stages. Now the corn is readying for the harvest and the barn is on its way to housing pigs! And that means that their wedding is just around the corner!
We then moved to Riemke’s family farm in Niagara and explored the property, gotten eaten alive by mosquitoes and chased that setting sun! I had such a great time with these two and I cannot wait to hang out with them in November to capture their amazing day.
Congratulations Riemke & Michael. I wish you God’s blessings as you continue to prepare for your marriage! Here are a few of my favourites from our time together!
