Things can change so much in just a short amount of time. One year ago, Ashley and John had just met and their journey together was only just beginning. This past Friday in-front of their many friends and close family, they were united together in marriage. It was a beautiful day and somehow the rain managed to stay away!
I first met Ashley and John in January and it has been a privilege to get to know them over the past half a year. They are full of laughter, like great brews and have a deep love for one another. It was so clear throughout the day that they had been set apart for one another by truly an amazing God.
For this wedding, I was able to work alongside Dana Lauder Photography for the day and it was so great to finally work together! Her images are spread throughout this (long!) blog post and they helped tell their wedding day story so beautifully. Thank you Dana!
We started documenting their day by spending time with the ladies and the gentlemen. After all the preparations were made and each looking beautiful and handsome, Ashley and John were able to share some quiet moments together during their first look. These simple but powerful moments have stolen my heart and I simply adore them! I am seriously smiling behind the camera the entire time!
All the family portraits and bridal party pictures were taken at the home of Ashley’s maid of honour parents. Their home backs on to a beautiful park and path and we were able to get some great shots there. It was a bit muggy and the bugs seemed to love climbing up the layers of tulle in Ashley’s dress!
John and Ashley committed their lives to one another in front of their church members, friends, family at Community CRC in Kitchener. It was a meaningful service that was led by John’s co-pastors at the church he also pastors at. After the service we headed to Rockway Gardens in Kitchener and found some cute little spots to capture some sweet moments of the two of them together.
The evening of celebration was held at the Schwaben Club in Kitchener. Some of my favourite moments of the day are listening to the speeches and toasts from their loved ones. It always leaves me smiling behind the camera. Oh and first dances, those are pretty awesome too. But really, I’m smiling all day long because there are so many happy moments throughout the day!
I’ve gathered some of my favourite images that tell the story of their day. It’s always hard to narrow them down into a small blog post, so they never really end up being small blog posts!
Thank you again John and Ashley for allowing me to capture your wedding day. It has been such a blessing getting to know you both and I pray that God may continue to guide you both as you begin this new journey of married life together! And enjoy your time on your honeymoon!
