This past weekend I was able to document Rebecca and Nick’s beautiful summer wedding day. Their story is a story filled with love and so much support from their friends and family. I was able to meet them earlier this year and I’ve enjoyed getting to know them over the last while. They are both kind and caring people who are always there for one another.
Their wedding day was filled with the evident love for one another, their girls and for their family and friends. Despite the ever dark clouds, which seems to have been a theme this summer, we received only a small sprinkle. They always say rain on your wedding day is good luck! So they received a small dose of good luck! I remember my own summer wedding day was very similar in weather to this day. Threatened rain all day but somehow it never did amount to much!
Both Rebecca and Nick got ready at the Nottawasaga Inn and Resort and then we headed to Rich Hill United Church. Rebecca incorporated so many personal touches into their day- it was so special. From the custom made bags for her bridesmaids, to the special bracelets for her girls and even the piece of lace from her grandmother’s wedding gown which was on her wedding bouquet, every part of their wedding was them.
Their ceremony was held at the small but quaint Rich Hill United Church. Just before Rebecca walked down the aisle Nick held his eyes closed a little bit longer than usual and then opened them to see his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. Rebecca looked incredibly stunning in her beautiful lace wedding gown. The back was gorgeous – loving the illusion lace! As part of their vows, they incorporated their three girls and made promises together as a family. I had tears in my eyes behind the camera at this point. Family is everything for them.
We were able to hang out with the wedding party and Rebecca and Nick at the Nottawasaga Inn to do some bridal party photos and some bride and groom photos. I had been in the Wedding Gardens earlier in April and it definitely looks so much more lush at this summer time of year– so many beautiful spots for portraits!
At their reception they were surrounded by all of their closest friends, family and loved ones. I always love being at receptions and hearing the speeches and at this wedding a song serenade by a best man. Being a wedding photographer is such a privilege and I am so thankful that each and every couple allow me into such an important day in their lives- it is such a blessing!
The night was finished off by dances including the most special dance- father and daughters dance. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room!
Congratulations Rebecca and Nick! I wish you so many blessings of love and happiness as you begin this new journey together as husband and wife. You are so blessed to have one another!
