The R Family – Lethbridge Extended Family Session

Summertime is the season in which families gather together. Whether that be together on a vacation, spending time together, or in this extended family’s case, at a photo session! When Railee contacted me about doing an extended family photography session in Lethbridge, I jumped at the opportunity. I have photographed a lot of extended family on wedding days but creating an entire photo session dedicated to having photos done as one big family, is something I really enjoy photographing.

Family is something to cherish. Having all your family in one place is something even greater to cherish. While in the moment, it may all feel like chaos, in the end it’s always worth it!

At every extended family photo session, I always ensure each individual family and couple, have their own time to shine in front to the camera. I also encourage lots of breaks and movement throughout the session. I never want these sessions to feel forced or exceptionally long.

Choosing an outdoor setting in the summer in Lethbridge like Popson Park allows for natural exploration! I don’t think there is an angle that doesn’t have a gorgeous view! I love that kids and families can explore and that there is a beautiful variety in landscape. Any location by the water in summertime is always a personal favourite of mine!

Thank you again to this amazing family for allowing me to spend time with you on a warm summer evening capturing new memories for you all!

There’s always images that stand out to me after each session. When I see the moment and capture the frame, I already am thinking of how I want to edit the photo.

I want to edit in a way that not only shows true to life, but feels true to life. I love this image for so many reasons. 💗

Kids are often so busy and in this moment, this sweet miss was still. Even though this landscape is home for her, it’s causing her to pause. The warmth, light and moment just all brings to together!

I love being able to see something, as quickly as it happens, then to have it captured forever! This gallery came together so beautifully!🤩

Ever thankful for this job and the people and places it continues to bring me!❤️
