It’s high time that I feature this beautiful backyard wedding on my blog! I always say, “it’s better late than never” so here it is!
Not only was this wedding day super spectacular, it was special because these two lovely humans are also people that we can call friends. Our family moved to Alliston 13 years ago, and Homer was the first contact we made. Deanna and Homer’s wedding was the last big event we attended before moving away from Alliston. It was almost a full circle event and it was such a joy to be a part of it!
They chose to create a wedding so special to them by inviting their closest loved ones – children, siblings, parents, and friends to celebrate with them in their very own backyard. They made it even more meaningful by incorporating so many items of meaning to them throughout the day.
Their niece designed and put together so many gorgeous florals throughout the backyard. Their little grandson had the role of ring bearer and did it in style by escorting the rings via a motorized vehicle. Homer put on the family tails jacket that so many men in his family wore at their own weddings. We visited potato fields that were in full purple bloom. We did photos in the potato fields, in front of a tractor, and with their families. Their entrance into their reception was the best ever – riding in on their Harley! Deanna and Homer danced their first dance on their back deck. Their surrounding loved ones looked on and joined in as well. And dessert was rhubarb pie – the grooms personal fave!
I could go on and on about all the ways that they made their day so personal and so them but I’ll let the photos show proof! There are so many beautiful images below from their backyard wedding and I hope you enjoy them as much as I had putting this gallery together.
It was such a joy to be a part of this day both as a photographer and as a guest. It was one of those summer nights that you’ll never forget and that you don’t want to end. Congratulations again Deanna and Homer! I know that you are coming up on two years, but this was such fun to compile and feature!
