The slower winter months in Alberta are great for getting things done! I find it hard to get blogging done when the weather is warm and I’m busy with photo shoots. This downtime allows me to look back on some pretty amazing engagement sessions that I never did get around to sharing!
I thought since its engagement season, I should share an engagement session on the blog! It’s time that I showcase this beautiful session! Vanita and Rance met me in a cute little park in Beeton about a month prior to their wedding. These two are the type of people that make your life richer by having them in your lives. Their kindness, laughter, and beautiful hearts were evident all throughout our session. They showed up, having never had done a photo session before, ready to have fun and create some beautiful moments together.
Vanita and Rance embraced their engagement session, as you’ll see from the photos below, and leaned into all of my crazy requests! One thing as your photographer, I never ask you to do things you aren’t ready to do. I start out with some icebreakers to help settle those nerves and to build trust. My number one goal as a photographer is to put you, my clients, at ease. I help you to feel comfortable, yet confident. I know how hard it can be to be on the other side of the lens! Creating movement, interaction, and conversation all help ease those jitters to create trust.
When I moved my business to Alberta, I knew it was going to take time to build back my client base. I desire to be different and yet uniquely me here at Kristin Sarah Photography. While gorgeous photos are always the first desire of my clients, an atmosphere of trust also tops the list.
I am grateful when my clients trust me and when that trust happens it reflects in the photos as well. Vanita and Rance planned (and had!) their wedding during shutdowns and didn’t quite know what their wedding day would look like. Despite these unknowns, they embraced it all with grace and trust. In the end, their day ended up being perfect, even if it was a bit different than their original plans.
I’m so excited to share these engagement images with you, despite its late timing. I was thankful the weather was beautiful, even the sunset was perfection! Congratulations again Vanita and Rance! I wish you continued blessings as you journey in your married life.
