Letters to our Children ~ February ~ Alliston Photographer

Sometimes its hard to slow down and just reflect.  Life gets so busy and in the chaos of life I often fail to reflect on stages, important moments and just how life is going at this point in time.

I am so thankful for this group – Letters to our Children- which allows me to do just that.  Reflect on my kids and who they are.  Even though the dates always sneak up on me each month, its been so good for me to do these posts.

This month I’m writing to my second born and my only son.  To continue through the circle to see some other beautiful letters and very talented photographers make sure you check out Karen’s letter to her daughter Mariah here.

Dear Baby Boy,

You are just over a month away from your fifth birthday.  You remind me each day that you are almost five.  And you are really not much of a baby boy anymore.  You are growing tall.  You no longer have the round little tummy as it has stretched as you have gained height in the last year.  Your moods are still as up and down as you have always been even from a little baby.  You are either super happy or super unhappy.

You ask us each day how old we are.  And each day the answer is always the same.  Every day you ask us to play on some sort of screen.  You are a bit obsessed with screens- tv, phone, computer! If it has a screen you want to be in front if it.  Which often brings its challenges as we do limit you and that usually brings about some kind of meltdown.  We are still figuring this out!

Lego and Ninja’s are your thing right now.  You love playing with lego and you love being a ninja.  You often carry around a Jake and the Neverland Pirate sword in whatever way you can keep it on your body.  Some days its tucked into the back of your shirt and other days its in your underwear.  You love fighting, wrestling and rough housing– I feel bad sometimes that you only have sisters.  And so your daddy who loves you so much will fill that roll for you.

You are still lovey and need to feel close to your mommy and daddy.  You still snuggle and you still fall asleep on the floor or wherever you are when you are bored.  You are sweet and often will pay us the nicest compliments.  You like to have fun and play and laugh.  There is never a dull moment when you are around.

We love you immensely and am so glad to have been blessed by you as our little boy.   Every time you do your little sucky face with your tongue and lips when you are tired it reminds me that you are still small and that you still need us for so much in your life.  I am cherishing these moments as I know they will slip away sooner than I know.  So my little baby boy, please stay little for a while longer I need these moments to not fade so quickly.

~Love Mommy

Trying new things can be daunting sometimes! I often get in my head and freeze rather than just doing something.

But here’s to trying new things and having fun doing it!

And if anyone has tips or tricks for BTS footage, let me know! I’m a great student!😂

Can I tell you a story?!

When I bought my very first camera about 16 years ago, I never dreamed that decision would have impacted my life in so many ways.

From a simple decision to wanting to document my daughter growing up, morphed into preserving all my children in their early years and now being able to serve so many other families.

If you are new here, I’m Kristin 🤗 Time passes incredibly quickly and I believe photos help tell your story of what life is like right in the here and now.

Life can change in an instant. I’ve found that out through hard experiences and through joyful ones.

Photography has the power of telling stories years after the moment occurred. I’m so incredibly grateful I have thousands of those memories of my own family. 💗

Being able to serve others is something that brings me so much joy!🙏

Is it time for you to create those beautiful memories with your family? Don’t wait!!

Comment below if you want to say YES to telling your family story this season!💗
Can I share something with you?! Actually, I’ve shared it before but it’s worth sharing again. 😉

Growth after life altering events is possible! I can go on about how this applies in so many ways but I want to share how it was made possible in my photography business.

After moving half way across the country, I wasn’t sure if my business had a future. I had to find all new clients, I had to learn an entirely new landscape (hello wind and dry prairie grass!) and I had to build from the ground up.

I decided to do what I’ve always done, just share and to keep doing what I love- taking photos! ♥️

When I received my first wedding inquiry only weeks after living in Alberta- I was shocked (and incredibly humbled!) it gave me hope and joy to know that can make this work!

Fast forward two and a half years later, I’m so so incredibly grateful to the many of you who have allowed me to photograph some of the most important milestones of your lives! It is not lost on me how you all have helped me to continue to do what I love! 🙌

So here’s to all that is to come! If you are looking for a joy filled photographer who finds beauty in the everyday, that’s me!💗

Follow along to see where the journey takes me!🌱🌸
