It’s not often anymore that I get to blog my own family! But better late than never they say! My two oldest children had big milestone birthdays last year. Leah turned the big 13 (I still can’t believe I’m old enough to have a teenager!) and Asher turned 10. Two of my three children are now in double digit numbers.
Everyone always says that the time passes by so quickly. I used to roll my eyes inside when I hear that but here I am saying that time really does go by so quickly! We’ve had 13 years of some amazing memories with Leah and 10 years of fun ones with Asher. There have also been some hard moments along the way and I’m constantly learning to adapt to new situations and bigger problems as they continue to mature.
I’m grateful that these two have been entrusted to me. They continue to amaze me each day. Their personalities continue to grow! Would you believe that Asher is a mini me as far as personality goes?! He’s my organized, on time, tender hearted, concerned about others, big soft marshmallow. He just doesn’t show his emotions (hello Dutch heritage!) but inside he is always concerned about what is fair and what is right. He continues to love to learn how to do all the things that are building him into an awesome young man. From climbing, using pocket knives, shooting, building fires, and getting boy time in with his bestie- he’s changed so much!
Leah’s passion for learning and devouring all the facts continues to astound me. She either has her head in a book or a pencil in her hand. Her talents for both drawing and writing are amazing– her drawing capabilities have long since passed mine! And if you ever want to know any random fact about any animal on the planet- she’s your person!
While this shoot was a month after their milestone birthdays, I’m glad I was able to capture a little bit of their personalities! I even snuck in a couple and also was able to capture a photo of our bag carrying person, lol!
