When I got married almost 15 years ago, I only knew weddings to be done one way. You got married in a church. Had pictures at a pretty place. Went to a local hall to have a reception. The food consisted of meatballs and mashed potatoes. Then you did some speeches and some fun skits and then the rest of the night was over. Our wedding was done the only way we knew how at the time.
Now fast forward 15 years and I’ve been immersed in the wedding industry for almost five years! Weddings look so different and I love that so much. If we could re-do, and we hope to one day, our wedding day would look so different. It would definitely be outdoors, with a small group of loved ones, it would be summer, I’d be barefoot, lots of good and local food. Dancing the night away under the stars, feet wet with the night dew. I can picture it so clearly in my mind!
Over the past number of years, I’ve been able to see so many different wedding days. Each are so unique to each couple. I’ve seen couples commit their lives to one another on a vintage TTC tram, in their parents backyard, in churches, in an alley way at a cool venue in Toronto, in a sun drenched yard with fresh ocean air, overlooking Lake Huron and Lake Ontario, in a fall forest, at a brewery, under willow trees, in a rustic barn, on golf courses, in a vineyard, small chapels, in a small church in the heritage rich Iceland and so many more. There are literally so many options now a days. From the fanciest of venues to the most quiet intimate locations, there are so many incredible places.
Here’s a collection of some of the weddings I’ve had the privilege of documenting whether it be main shooting or second shooting. The common theme in all of these is the smiles and love that the couples share.
I have a few available 2019 wedding dates yet and am booking into 2020. If you would like to connect please feel free to contact me here. I look forward to hearing from you!
