Sarah and Jake’s wedding was my last Niagara Wedding of 2017 and it was such an incredible way to close out an amazing wedding season! Sarah is my cousin and when she asked me to photograph her wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited! In our extended family, we have had a lot of the boy cousins get married but Sarah was the first girl cousin of mine to get married.
Both Jake and Sarah are pretty chill people and I really felt the calmness all day long. They really emphasized the love that they shared but also the love that they have for their family and friends around them. Oh and a love for good comfort food- they did their wedding their way and chose to have pizza and wings for dinner- seriously so amazing!
I started the day with Sarah and the girls as they were getting ready at Sarah’s grandparents house. When I walked into the house, everyone was just chilling together and preparing for the day. There was laughter, mimosas, and of course a few selfies! Sarah’s dad, my Uncle Brian has been a long time volunteer firefighter and was able to secure a vintage firetruck to bring Sarah to the church in. It was so awesome and I didn’t find out until I was there with the ladies– it was so special for them!
Jake and Sarah said their vows to one another in front of their family and friends at Bethel CRC in Dunnville. It was a lovely ceremony filled with so much love. One of my most favourite parts of a wedding day during the ceremony just looking at all the people that come and show their support. It’s amazing to know that the bride and groom are surrounded by so many amazing people who want to a part of their lives.
The day was a little chilly and we had off and on rain but we were able to get some amazing portraits with the wedding party and with Jake and Sarah. We ended off our portrait session with Jake and Sarah inside a little church at Marshville Heritage Centre. I’m pretty sure we could have shot in that little church all day long- the light in there was incredible! These two rocked their portrait session! To warm up the bridal party headed to Tim Horton’s afterwards.
Their evening started off with an amazing meal of pizza, wings, salads and an ice cream bar for dessert. This was such an awesome meal!! We got to hear some amazing speeches by their parents, best man and maid of honour. These were some of the best speeches I’ve heard left me with both tears and with lots of laughter. I left when the dances were about to get started but I’m pretty sure they danced and had fun well into the night!
Congratulations again Jake and Sarah! I wish you God’s blessings as you continue on your adventure of married life together!
Below are some of my favourites from throughout the day. A huge thank you to Jamie Machin for being my amazing second shooter for the day- I can’t wait to work with you again! And also as usual the list of all the vendors who helped make this day possible are listed below as well. I’m now booking 2018 weddings and would love to have some more Niagara Wedding bookings!
