Christmas Tree Farm Family Session – Barrie Family Photographer

When we did this session it was mid December and very close to Christmas, but there was no snow fallen on the ground to make it all fresh and new.  The beauty of doing family sessions outside is that authentic moments are captured.  When we can add an activity to an outdoor shoot like cutting down a Christmas Tree- it makes it even better!  We picked Drysdale’s Tree Farm as our location – which is an ever popular one at this time of the year.  It’s such a beautiful spot and has some really great activities for the kids to do – like meeting Santa!

Jen contacted me regarding capturing some memories with her two children.  I had the privilege in October to capture Jen’s extended family session and was happy to be able to photograph her and her kids again.  What was evident in our short time together, is how much the kids love their mom.  The running hugs into moms arms were some of my favourite moments captured.   I know that for me, life continues to pass by so quickly and I often forget to get pictures of myself with my kids.  And I’m so happy that Jen now has these pictures of her and her little ones for years to come.

Here are a few of my favourites of our time together.  If you are interested in preserving your family memories, I would love to hear from you!  Please use this form to contact me and I’ll get back to you shortly!

Can I share something with you?! Actually, I’ve shared it before but it’s worth sharing again. 😉

Growth after life altering events is possible! I can go on about how this applies in so many ways but I want to share how it was made possible in my photography business.

After moving half way across the country, I wasn’t sure if my business had a future. I had to find all new clients, I had to learn an entirely new landscape (hello wind and dry prairie grass!) and I had to build from the ground up.

I decided to do what I’ve always done, just share and to keep doing what I love- taking photos! ♥️

When I received my first wedding inquiry only weeks after living in Alberta- I was shocked (and incredibly humbled!) it gave me hope and joy to know that can make this work!

Fast forward two and a half years later, I’m so so incredibly grateful to the many of you who have allowed me to photograph some of the most important milestones of your lives! It is not lost on me how you all have helped me to continue to do what I love! 🙌

So here’s to all that is to come! If you are looking for a joy filled photographer who finds beauty in the everyday, that’s me!💗

Follow along to see where the journey takes me!🌱🌸
Okay sappy mom post below!👇

As I was compiling this reel it dawned on me that my daughter was the reason I got into photography in the first place. I’ve been been photographing her back for almost 17 years now 🤯

I’ve seen the world through her eyes!
I’ve learned about rocks, bugs, animals, fish, plants.
I’ve experienced wonder, joy and awe

And she taught me all that!

It’s not lost on me that she only has a little over a year left of high school, then who knows where the world where bring her.

It makes me just a wee bit weepy but also fills me with a whole lot of gratitude. I’m thankful that I now have all these memories locked away in my heart, but also in picture form.

So make the trip. Plan the outing. Make memories. Love.⭐️💗
