Family Forever ~ Wasaga Beach Family Photography l Wasaga Beach Photographer

This family session was one of my favourite to date.  Not only was the location in one of my most favourite places, the people in the session rocked it!  In August we headed to the Vander Zaag’s home in Wasaga Beach to capture some memories together.  We have had the great privilege of staying at their home in Wasaga Beach a number occasions and each time I’m refreshed and renewed.  There’s something about the beach and the smell of water in the air – it breaths new life into me!  And so when Janette asked if we could do the session there I was very excited!

Having kids that are only small, I can’t imagine what it will be like when one day my kids are off doing their own things.  But I know that the day comes sooner than I’ll think.  Each of their kids are finishing up their final years of university and excited to start new things in their lives.  And this brings a new stage in life for both Homer & Janette, with having all their kids out of the house.  The family wanted to capture some photos together of what life is like right now.  And what such a beautiful life they have – filled with a depth of love.

After the sun went down we headed down to beach to set off some Chinese Wish Lanterns – like the kind in the movie Tangled!  These were fun and went up surprisingly quickly and then off out of sight!  It was fun to capture that!  Thank you again Vander Zaag family for having me photograph your family- I’m glad you’ll have these memories documented for years to come!

✨👀 Watch Me Edit 👀✨

As I was shooting this gorgeous maternity session last fall, a couple of walkers passed us by in the background and yelled, “I hope we don’t photobomb you!” I knew that they would and rather than pausing, I kept on shooting.

@lightroom is simply the bomb and I literally use it for about 99% of my editing. Their AI generative feature is killer! I have used it SO MUCH since it’s been released. It helps me get rid of fly away hairs, mosquito bites, photobombers and so much more. This is one feature I’ve been again and again thankful for!

Here’s a quick fun video of me editing out those nature walkers! It’s just a basic AI fix bit still shows the power of the tool!
