Summer seems so far away now that we’ve had a good couple of weeks of super cold weather! But back in July my daughter and her two friends attended an Art Class in Shelburne, ON. Jen of 4 Monkey’s Studio runs an awesome art class for kids. She also offers many other classes- one that I like to do once and a while with my neighbour is Ladies Night Out. Leah’s art class is usually a big highlight of her summer. This is the second summer that she has participated and she thoroughly enjoyed it.
This year each morning the kids would read a story by Peter H. Reynolds or other popular authors and then they would complete an art piece interpreting that story. It always amazes me how awesome of a job the kids do at their work. They are truly pieces of art. Each year we keep adding these pieces of art to Leah’s art wall in her bedroom. I love being able to photograph how proud she is of her art creations.
On the last day of class they have an “Art Show”. This year after the show we all headed to Super Burger in Shelburne, ON, for lunch. For those of you not familiar with Super Burger its an old subway car turned into a dining room. Pretty awesome! One of the best parts though is swinging on the milk crate swing when lunch was done!
