Summer Fun Ideas – Hamilton Photographer – Hamilton Blogger

As a mompreneur, our summer time become a tricky balance between needing to get work done and being intentional with my little beings who are growing very quickly.  My three are now at an age where they are very self-sufficent and they do play well together, but they still require structure and things to do.  I’ve always been good at using time, when I find time, to work.  In the past this looked like, building a website, answering emails, writing blog posts, creating content between the hours of 7 – 11 p.m. or utilizing a nap time hustle.  This is how I built the behind the scenes things in my business.  Now kid are past the days of early bed time and afternoon naps, so fitting in work looks much different these days.  During the school year, I have an eight hour stretch to get work done.  Summers are a different story though!  But we also enjoy our summer time.  We get outside, we swim, we hike, we walk to the library, we just do.  Summertime isn’t necessarily ‘time off’ for us, its more of what can we do differently today, while still learning and experiencing.

Summertime is also a time for relationship building.  On this particular hot summer day, we all trekked north to visit the Hibberd Casa to enjoy the company of friendship but also to play with the baby Nigerian Dwarf Goats!  Jen and I met five years ago through social media and we’ve never looked back!  Not only has this photography business provided awesome client relationships, it has given me so many friendships and I’m so grateful for all the amazing women entrepreneurs I have met along this journey.  The four of us women got together to not only share each others company, but to snap some fun pictures as well.  Jen’s home is a paradise in my opinion!  Lots of sunshine, a garden full of produce, lots of land to roam and lots of fresh air.  All the combinations for slower living.

I’m looking forward again to this summer where we can create more memories and more experiences with our friends and our loved ones.  What’s on your summer to do list?  Make sure you intentionally cultivate time to build your personal relationships! Whether that be with extended family, new friends or even just your little ones.  Make time for them.
