I first met Meghan just over year ago as she was a guest at Ryan + Raquel’s wedding that I shot at the Club at Bond Head . That day was her birthday and Raquel made sure Meghan had her own little birthday cupcake- it was so sweet! It was such a great privilege to shoot Meghan and Craig’s beautiful wedding day at the Hawk Ridge Golf Club in Orillia.
Meghan and Craig have one of those fairy tale, long lasting love stories and I get goosebumps just reading it! Rather than me re-telling it and losing all the good details, I’m going to let Meghan share it with you readers!
Craig and I met when I was nine years old and he was thirteen. We grew up as neighbours at a trailer park that we went to every summer. I had a crush on my hottie neighbour from when I was young enough to remember, however, I was always just a bit too young for Craig. As time went on we grew up side by side and hung out most summers together as friends. It wasn’t until I became eighteen, and got my braces off, that he finally noticed me! Our friendship became so much more and our love for each other grew into him being someone I couldn’t live without. I always had a hard time describing the way our love felt, but one of the way I could write it, is that it always felt like coming home. He was the family I wasn’t born into but would start one of my own with. Our wedding day was perfect, it was laid back the same way we are. We were surrounded by 181 of the best people we know and partied until the small hours of the morning. We were fortunate enough to have one of the best weekends of summer for weather and our Bridal team was more than incredible.
One thing I love most about being a wedding photographer is how I can be let in to such intimate moments in these couples lives. It always leaves my heart filled full after seeing how much love surrounds them. A wedding day goes by so quickly, and the one job that I have is to freeze time just for those moments. So when you are looking back at your wedding photos 5, 10 or 30 years later, you are brought right back to those feelings of love and support!
Meghan and Craig truly had one beautiful day! I’m pretty sure it was 30 degrees in the sun that day on September 16th! We capped off their day with watching the sunset- the first sunset viewing together as a husband and wife. Congratulations again Meghan and Craig. I wish you so many blessings of love and adventures as you continue on in your married life!
