Rebecca + Nick Engaged – Nottawasaga Inn & Resort Engagement Photos

A few weeks ago, I was able to meet up with Rebecca and Nick at the Nottawasaga Inn and Resort for their engagement photo session.  We had rescheduled from a few weeks earlier when we had that crazy cold, wintery weather!  It was a bit chilly during their session but you can’t tell because Rebecca and Nick were so cozy together!

Rather than me telling their story, I asked Rebecca if she would share a bit of their story on my blog!

Where did you two meet?

Nick and I met October of 2011 up near a small town called Lac La Biche, AB. We were both working in the oil fields and both resided at the same camp. Nick was working out in the fields as a Drill Rig Operator and I was in camp at the front desk and I was that smiling face everyone saw after coming home from a 12 hour shift. There were at least 1,500 people in our camp.  One day Nick decided to come over and talk to me. After that, everyday for almost three months, Nick being his charming self, would come over and chat and would even wait up until my shift was over to play ping pong. He would pull pranks on me almost everyday.

Three months after we met we both knew we wanted to be with each other. We both left the camp life and moved to Calgary together.

How did the proposal happen?

Being from Ontario myself, in September of 2015 we decided it was a perfect time for our family to all move to Ontario. Nick was still working in Calgary so for the longest time he was flying back and forth when he could to visit us. Thanksgiving weekend, not knowing he was coming home, he surprised us all. Thanksgiving day Nick proposed and even had our daughters a part of it. It was beautiful.

What are you most excited about for your wedding?

Nick and I are very excited, grateful and looking forward to all our friends and family who are able to make it especially those who are flying out from the east and west to spend our special day with us.

I’m so excited to have been chosen to be their photographer for their August wedding and to be able to document their special day.  Rebecca and Nick are going to be having their ceremony at Rich Hill United Church in Tottenham, Ontario and will be having their reception at the beautiful Nottawasaga Inn and Resort.

Here are a few of my favourites from our session together.  These two have so much love and fun together and it was evident in our time together.  At the end of the engagement session, we headed inside the Nott and captured some pictures of them playing ping pong together- something that they really enjoy to do!

Congratulations again Rebecca and Nick, I cannot wait for your August wedding!

Trying new things can be daunting sometimes! I often get in my head and freeze rather than just doing something.

But here’s to trying new things and having fun doing it!

And if anyone has tips or tricks for BTS footage, let me know! I’m a great student!😂

Can I tell you a story?!

When I bought my very first camera about 16 years ago, I never dreamed that decision would have impacted my life in so many ways.

From a simple decision to wanting to document my daughter growing up, morphed into preserving all my children in their early years and now being able to serve so many other families.

If you are new here, I’m Kristin 🤗 Time passes incredibly quickly and I believe photos help tell your story of what life is like right in the here and now.

Life can change in an instant. I’ve found that out through hard experiences and through joyful ones.

Photography has the power of telling stories years after the moment occurred. I’m so incredibly grateful I have thousands of those memories of my own family. 💗

Being able to serve others is something that brings me so much joy!🙏

Is it time for you to create those beautiful memories with your family? Don’t wait!!

Comment below if you want to say YES to telling your family story this season!💗
Can I share something with you?! Actually, I’ve shared it before but it’s worth sharing again. 😉

Growth after life altering events is possible! I can go on about how this applies in so many ways but I want to share how it was made possible in my photography business.

After moving half way across the country, I wasn’t sure if my business had a future. I had to find all new clients, I had to learn an entirely new landscape (hello wind and dry prairie grass!) and I had to build from the ground up.

I decided to do what I’ve always done, just share and to keep doing what I love- taking photos! ♥️

When I received my first wedding inquiry only weeks after living in Alberta- I was shocked (and incredibly humbled!) it gave me hope and joy to know that can make this work!

Fast forward two and a half years later, I’m so so incredibly grateful to the many of you who have allowed me to photograph some of the most important milestones of your lives! It is not lost on me how you all have helped me to continue to do what I love! 🙌

So here’s to all that is to come! If you are looking for a joy filled photographer who finds beauty in the everyday, that’s me!💗

Follow along to see where the journey takes me!🌱🌸
